We now offer battery backup systems!
With battery backup, the excess power produced by your solar panels will be stored in batteries to be used later, instead of being sent back into the Aurora grid.
Because now your extra power is sold to Aurora for only 8 cents, if you are not on the legacy 1:1 feed-in tariff (all systems sold after August 2013), it is much more cost efficient to use your extra power yourself and save 28 cents per kWh than to sell it back at 8 cents per kWh.
All current customers on the legacy 28 cent feed in tariff should now be preparing for December 31st 2018 when the legacy arrangement ends. By planning now we can help you switch over to battery storage using your existing solar panels and inverter.
Our typical installation is a 13.5 kWh Tesla Powerwall system consisting of:
- 1 x Tesla Powerwall – 13.5 kWh lithium ion battery
- 1 x Tesla Gateway
- 1 x Installation
Cost for equipment is $10,100 for Powerwall $2,250 Supporting hardware = $12,350 total equipment cost. Your final design and pricing will be based on your electrical panel, home energy usage, number of Powerwalls, and where you’d like your Powerwall installed. Typical installation cost ranges from $1,450 to $4,400 This does not include solar installation or electrical upgrades (if necessary).
All in one
