Rob Manson is I Want Energy’s CEO.
Rob Manson has an extensive history in the electrical wholesaling and contracting industry and in the early 2000s saw the opportunity and benefits offered by renewable energy. As a result, in 2004 Robert founded I Want Energy http://iwantenergy.com.au/, an organisation dedicated to focusing on the highest quality designs and installation of renewable energy services.
Rob quickly realised the importance of delivering the highest quality product and reliable installations at the most competitive price, in order to gain support from government and private sectors in Tasmania.
In 2007, I Want Energy joined the Clean Energy Council, the national peak body for renewable energy in Australia, and Robert cemented his reputation as a leader in the industry and a source of quality installations and designs.
Following this, Rob has worked to establish and act as the President for the Tasmanian Renewable Energy Alliance (TREA) http://tasrenew.org.au/, which has the primary goal of promoting the use of renewable energy for domestic consumers, government bodies and private industry in the state.
He is a strong advocate for the use of renewable energy in the island state of Tasmania, Australia, and this passion has led to major projects with the State Government and private enterprise.
This also saw him proactively work with both of these sectors on projects on outlying islands of Tasmania, which have previously been reliant on fossil fuels working on Flinders Island, King Island, Cape Barren Island and Bruny Island, giving each area a more sustainable energy outlook.
In his 13 years in the renewable energy sector, coupled with his passion for quality and innovation, Rob has become the preferred supplier to a large number of Government departments for renewable energy, completing work for the Department of Health, the Department of Education, as well as many large private enterprises across both wind and solar energy sources.
Rob’s interests include all thing related to renewable energy, electric vehicles and travelling the world playing golden oldies rugby.
